Marian decided on teaching for her future college and career pathway as a student at CAP & GOWN. We didn’t see any reason why she should wait to start giving back. Marian now works for CAP & GOWN and has been teaching ACT Reading—a subject she knows well as her final score after two years of Operation 36 and STEM SI was a 35!
Makenzie wrote about her experience as a student in the 2020 virtual STEM Summer Institute where she participated in free ACT prep that helped her raise her match and reading score. She also was able to prepare for the college steps necessary in her senior year.
The Pearls and CAP & GOWN partnered for our first ever ALL GIRLS college tour. Our young ladies visited Agnes Scott College and Spelman College, two all girls colleges in Atlanta, GA. The trip focused on empowering our young women to explore all of their options for the future.

Operation 36

STEM Institute
At STEM Summer Institute you can take classes on each section of the ACT and participate a team project competition, creating your own technological design in partnership with the FlexFactor program and Calhoun CC.
